A Sanctuary Planted is a body of work which spans several decades and links creative ideas and experiments in design, horticulture, and art.
It is about designing and making in the broadest sense. The projects overlap and inspire each other and in their different ways have expanded my knowledge, appreciation, expertise and skills.
The Sanctuary project was pure creative indulgence on a massive scale, initially based on limited knowledge and naive enthusiasm. The idea was to make something from nothing with a combination of plenty of energy and no money.
In a broad sense, the project encompasses designing and making, and includes art, textiles and pattern making inspired by the garden itself.
It is a joy to watch things come to life.
